SMX is seeking a Lead Intelligence Planner with experience developing, reviewing, and revising plans and concepts to support the USAREUR-AF G2 3/5/7 by providing intelligence support to mission command and subordinate assigned regional aligned and rotational units in Europe and Africa.

This position requires a DoD Top Secret SCI clearance which requires US citizenship for work on a DoD contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop war plans, contingency operational plans, and concepts, and provide guidance and technical assistance in the development of plans and orders to support real-world contingencies and military training exercises

  • Plan, review, coordinate, evaluate, and integrate actions required to support current and future operational missions

  • Assess operational readiness and determine capability of units, commanders, and staff elements; develop, review, and revise military training plans and standards

  • Analyze, review, revise, and coordinate theater and national operations and contingency plans, as well as joint and service specific doctrinal publications

  • Execute detailed contingency and crisis action planning and contribute to Strategic Communications concepts and plans, ensuring an intelligence focus on our major theater of war contingency operations, and update intelligence products

  • Prepare advice and recommendations for high level officials and operations personnel for coordination of issues as well as attend planning conferences, meetings, conduct reconnaissance and write military orders

  • Prepare intelligence planning products in support of the integrated staff Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) as well as the Adaptive Planning Process

  • Develop the exercise architecture for the Intelligence Battlefield Operating System (IBOS) scenarios for staff training, and major subordinate command staff training exercises

  • Participate in exercises and work within the established planning priorities and makes recommendations on the validation of requirements for intelligence support

Required Skills & Experience

  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI

  • Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) years of directly related intelligence experience; or fifteen (15) years of directly related military intelligence experience including appropriate military and civilian training.

  • Three (3) years’ experience writing operations orders and commander’s estimates and possess outstanding verbal and oral briefing skills.

  • Three (3) years' experience with the Army Intelligence Planning process.

  • Three (3) years' experience working with guidelines, policies, and procedures, the command-and-control structure, Army transformation/modularity, writing analytical studies and requirements documents and communicating them orally.
